Nuts about Peanut Butter
As a personal trainer a healthy diet is just as important as actual training, not just for my clients but for myself too. I have a self confessed sweet tooth that I am constantly battling and one of my favourite ways to satisfy the cravings is a spoon of peanut butter. Natural of course, no added anything; except maybe a small amount of salt. I love this snack as not only is it high in protein, very important when trying make the most of your training, but despite having no added sugar my tastebuds still think they’re getting a treat. As you can see from the image we have plenty stashed in the cupboards, not just at home but at both of my studios too! My favourite way to eat it at the moment is on a banana (great for pre-training), it tastes as good as dessert to me; however be as inventive as you like, but obviously pair it with something equally as healthy as otherwise it kind of defeats the object. Obviously not for those of you with nut allergies and despite its health benefits, it’s like anything else; better in moderation. Attached to the title of this blog is a link from Harvard Health Publishing about some of the known benefits of this healthy and tasty treat.
